God's gift: T-A-L-E-N-T-S

The Parable of the Talents:

Jesus told His disciples this parable, “It will be as when a man who was going on a journey called in his servants and entrusted his possessions to them. To one he gave five talents; to another, two; to a third, one — to each according to his ability. Then he went away. Immediately the one who received five talents went and traded with them, and made another five. Likewise, the one who received two made another two. But the man who received one went off and dug a hole in the ground and buried his master’s money. … The one who had received five talents came forward bringing the additional five. He said, ‘Master, you gave me five talents. See, I have made five more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. Since you were faithful in small matters, I will give you great responsibilities. Come, share your master’s joy.’… Then the one who had received the one talent came forward and said, ‘Master, I knew you were a demanding person, harvesting where you did not plant and gathering where you did not scatter; so out of fear I went off and buried your talent in the ground. Here it is back.’ His master said to him in reply, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I did not plant and gather where I did not scatter? Should you not then have put my money in the bank so that I could have got it back with interest on my return? Now then! Take the talent from him and give it to the one with ten. For to everyone who has, more will be given and he will grow rich; but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. Based from the parable, God has blessed us with so many different and unique talents. The talents are God's gift to us and using them for His glory is our gift to God. We may not be aware of it but definitely He never allows our pocket/hands to be empty. We just have to discover it for us to find out. If we don't put our talents to good use then God has the authority to take it away from us and give it to someone who wisely uses it for the greater good.

Talents can be in many forms - a hobby, a skill/ability, a gift worth sharing, a treasure, can be related to money/finances and having that talent means opportunity, growth, maturity, business, pressure, increasing responsibility and prone to challenges. Knowing how to use your talent is an A+ because you only give God more reasons to continue blessing you and in return you can bless others more with your blessings. And then, everybody will do it and the cycle goes on. Amazingly WOW! Isn't God so great? AMEN to that!

As privileged sons and daughters of God, He is teaching us the right way to use these talents. He gave meaning that represents our attitude as stewards of these T-A-L-E-N-T-S.

T - Thankful (the more we say thank you Lord, the more God will generously bless us with more)

A - Available / Appreciate (find time to share and appreciate the gift because it's the perfect gift to the giver of gifts)

L - Love (without love, it's not meaningful. Love should be our fuel to share the gifts we have to others.)

E - Encourage / Endure ( Continue to encourage others and give them a push when things get rough)

N - Never ending grace (the more we share, we more we are blessed beyond measure)

T - Time, talent & treasure (sharing yourself through 3Ts)

S - Service, sacrifice, surrender (offering yourself for the good of many, denying yourself of your needs, putting the interest of others above you and lifting it all to God when the burden is too much)

Salamat Lord. Hindi ko to deserve pero still binigay mo. Siksik, liglig at umaapaw. Ang galing mo talaga! Never mo ko iniwan at pinabayaan. Nag struggle man ako since November until April pero sulit naman yun. All the pain, silence, failed attempts and experiences was worth it all for I remained still and confident knowing you are in control. The 6 month labor ban, unsure future and all the impossible things became possible. You have answered my prayers in the way I least expected them.

You have fulfilled your purpose and plan for me and here I am still standing strong. Now I understand Lord. Thank you for allowing those things to happen. I may have lost a lot of opportunities, people and things but I have gained a stronger faith, a better perspective and a good heart. Lord you are so amazing. Your time is always perfect. This is the biggest and best blessing you have given me and for that I'll declare to the world how great you are. You are gracious Lord. You have been with me in times that I didn't understand.

Thank you for your guidance and for pushing me to the limits. Thank you for your providence, grace, love and mercy that never failed me. Thank you Lord. I am lost for words because it is overwhelming. You have done so much and blessed me beyond measure. Lord you have done your part and now it's my turn to give back the glory that you deserve. Send me Lord I dunno where but please lead me there. May God be praised! Thank you for the support, understanding, prayers and love! Victory is indeed ours.

God (who is love) knows no hopeless or helpless situations..

There are times we get stuck in a struggle that paralyzes us to do something and perhaps move on. Yes, it's hard to face the struggles with a heavy heart knowing that you're alone and at times hopeless nor helpless. Sometimes we forget that God has been with us through the tough times. We seem to think we can do it our selves but we can't. God is always there and He knows no hopeless or helpless situations. It is because He is God and we are not. His ways are higher and better than ours. His love surpasses all things even impossible ones. He can change our sadness to an irreplaceable joy. He is the God of all great things and the only God of all human beings.

So if you're struggling right now, remember that you are in His presence. No battle that was lost for He always wins. No sorrow that he can't take away. No pain that He can't heal. No problem that He can't solve. And no struggle that He can't overcome. For as long as we hold on to Him, rest assured that we are in good hands for He has great plans. In His presence we can find peace, joy, trust, completeness, love, faith and unending hope. All we can simply do is trust Him even if it doesn't make sense. We should surrender to Him and allow His will to be done for God knows what He is doing and He never fails to work things out for us. Continue to trust and believe in Him because He knows no hopeless or helpless situations. All is well! May God be praised! Deo Gloria! :)

I love my household!

A household is a gift from God. If the family is the basic unit of society then a household is a basic unit of the CFC SFC community. Having a household is being part of a family that shares a common goal in life and that is to serve and glorify God. It is in the household that the teaching and learning takes place. It's where we are molded, maintained, uplifted, inspired, motivated and perhaps healed. It is also where we can talk about sensitive and personal issues within the people involved and there's confidence that nothing comes out but stays within the group.

It is through the household where my roots started to grow, gained a strong foundation, maintained a stable prayer time, inspired to bear fruit through my service and the exchange of relationships shared with other people.

A household is a blessing. It's a great and gorgeous gift from God. It's what we call 4G and it's not only limited to your boyfriend or girlfriend. Our families are considered 4G. Anything can be considered and it depends on the person values it.

I am blessed with 4 angels from God! Namely, Enina Ocampo, Collete Cawagas, Cristina Padual Alday and Maikie Ann Quimson Aniciete! I am happy to journey with them and favored to share my life with theirs! I feel so honored to be a Nanay to them in our household. God is so good for allowing me to meet wonderful persons whom I will guide through the SFC community. I feel confident and somehow humbled knowing that serving them is my mission now! I also pray for their hearts, service and desire that may they seek God in all that they do. I hope they'll grow mature in serving Christ and find there purpose in glorifying Him. And when they will be ready, I know they will become effective leaders, servants and followers of God. I claim in Jesus' name and during the right time, may God's will be done, AMEN!

Testify and See

TESTIFY AND SEE (January 3, 2014) from Daily Manna

Gospel for the day: John 1:29-34

29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! 30 This is the one I meant when I said, ‘A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’ 31 I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel.” 32 Then John gave this testimony: “I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. 33 And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ 34 I have seen and I testify that this is God’s Chosen One.”[a] ~John 1:29-34

We have heard this statement that says "To see is to believe." People nowadays are concerned more in seeing and if they do, then they'll believe. Here's a funny situation that proves it wrong. How do you know if you have a brain? Can you see it? No? So since you don't see it then you're brainless? How about your heart? You know what it looks like? Have you seen it? No? So you're heartless? The people during the time of Christ need not see because they know that if they believe, they will see how far God's wonder may lead them to. Blessed are those who were physically blind that time for they truly seek Jesus and indeed they testified, witnessed a miracle and even saw Him in all His greatness, power and majesty.  

I suddenly realized a better statement: To see is to believe but to feel and experience is better than seeing." Believing is a different thing and seeing is not everything. We can't see emotions but we can feel them. We can't see knowledge and wisdom but we can express them freely. We can't see sickness but the symptoms are there to indicate that there's something wrong. We can't see technology or communication but the gadgets are there to show how it works. We can't see the childhood beliefs we had like the existence of tooth fairy, Easter bunny, etc., but story books were there to prove they do when in reality they don't. Being able to see is not an assurance that things are real because sometimes the eyes can be deceived. 

However there are supernatural things that the eye can't see but the heart can feel. We can't see love but our hearts can express, feel love and also pain. We believe in God but do we see Him? No, but because we have faith then it makes all things possible. Yes, God is real and we can definitely feel His presence. We may not see Him physically but we can see Him in other people and through the situations that are happening to us. We can testify that we have seen Him in all areas of our life and that He never left us especially in times that we needed Him.

Our God is an amazing God and He will find a lot ways to make us feel blessed, loved, treasured, provided, cared for, assured, answered, embraced, healed, comforted, honored, supported, worth fighting for, saved, forgiven, spared, inspired, motivated and a lot more! He is our Everything. He hears and sees every event in our lives and sometimes we fail to notice that because we believe in seeing than that of experiencing Him. May we realize that testifying is seeing God at work in our life and that may we continue to obey and witness especially when it doesn't make sense.

Prayer: Lord, may You teach us to have more faith in You. Allow our eyes to see things beyond our capacity so that we could testify, experience, and feel more of your grace and love. Lord in Your name, we trust! Amen!

2013 has been a great year and time flew so fast!!!!!

I never thought of reaching this far..

I endured tears, stress, bruises and scars..

I learned to let it go, move on and leave it all in the past...

I encountered a lot of things..

It was Happy, sad, and stressful

But mostly all were considered as BLESSINGS!

Yes I lost, was empty, gained but now I'm overflowing and full!

I want to thank the Lord for everything He has done in my life especially for overcoming the year 2013! He revealed a lot of surprises for me, opened doors of opportunities, enhanced me to become better, trained me for the purpose of serving Him, made impossible ways possible for me, allowed me to become more creative and expressive with my art and emotions and He was motivated me to change (in a good way.)

I encountered hurts, tears, disappointments and all other emotions. I became stress, sick, homesick, depressed, hopeless but with God's grace I was able to conquer and survive them all. The experiences weren't easy to go through and I realized that as I journeyed with God, things made sense and I know that He always has a great plan ahead for me/you. The struggles were all test to see how faithful we would be when things are getting rough. Of course I realize that prayer was my weakness and I had to make it constant. God made it known to me that running to Him is the best thing to do and communicating to Him should be constant.

We get stronger, wiser, fiercer, empowered, blessed and happier.. I get to realize my own weakness and even loved my flaws. I get to be verbal about my feelings instead of keeping it all in. I get to be expressive of my emotions and I love the feeling of hugging and kissing. Working with the kids taught me how important it is to express love and being able to smile for it's an act they can easily pick up. I feel so happy with all the changes that came to me. All the negative things I had this year are all in the past and I am ready to welcome the new year with a blast. :)

Thank you for the learning, the pain, the experience, the struggle, the memories and the blessings of 2013. As we welcome 2014, may this year be a year of faith, hope, love, trust, blessing, prosperity, peace and success for all us. May we strive to continue the mission entrusted to us by God. May this year become an evangelistic one so that we can conquer and make His name be known in all the nations!

Let it go & Let God

I have been so addicted with the song because it reflects what I am going through right now.. I haven't been verbal about the situations that are coming my way. All I know is I can verbalize inspirational and motivational posts no matter what I am going through. I don't mention something negatively. (I usually turn a bad event to a good post with learning actually..) Yes, I don't post negative occurrences but I can definitely transform it to make it challenging, inspirational and always linked to God. (That's what I am proud of.. and I guess it's therapeutic for me and for those who will see it..) That's something I have grown up doing and I hope it works..

I experienced being afraid, being isolated, being unable to express myself freely and everybody's opinion mattered to me (which I knew was wrong..) But then I realized I need to let it all go.. All the pains, hurt, cries and all other negative emotions that I have been hiding. I wanted to have a brand new start and before the year ends I wanna leave them all in the past and learn to move on. Yes I have grudges, anger, guilty feelings and depressive moments but I surrendered it all to God. It wasn't easy and I asked for the grace of love, patience, forgiveness, acceptance, hope and more faith so that I could go on further. I needed the time to relax, to think, to plan, to communicate, to de-stress and to seek God more so that I can act fully and freely.

Indeed, God is good. I feel so soooo better now. All the tears and the aches of the past are now a memory, a mirror and a good lesson learned. I became wiser, stronger, fiercer and I feel I can fight again. Of course it won't be possible if not for God and for the support of my family and friends. The decision was not that easy because I had to give up, to admit that I was weak and that I needed help. Things may change, appearances may improve, attitudes may be developed, relationships improved and my prayer time became stronger. I will obey and witness Lord even if it doesn't make sense! Thank you Lord for preparing me, for healing me, for molding me, for making me stronger and fearless. Thank you for you always act during the right time, never early nor too late. Thank you for the never ending love, assurance, mercy, forgiveness, understanding, blessings and for all things great and good in my life. You are a great God! You make things possible. I love you Lord.

Say YES to GOD

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 12:24-26.

Jesus said to his disciples: “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat; but if it dies, it produces much fruit. Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will preserve it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there also will my servant be. The Father will honor whoever serves me."

The gospel today speaks about obeying God, serving His people and following Him to where He wants us to be. Being a servant of God is a difficult task because there will come a time that you have to deny yourself, you have to give up your desires for the greater good, to be tempted at times, to be judged or questioned, to carry the cross of Christ or maybe to suffer like He did, to be sent out for mission in different areas and even going out of your comfort zone just to be able to complete your task.

Obedience is difficult without the willingness of the heart. It's hard to obey if it's against your will or if you're being forced to do something. You have to willingly accept and embrace the mission that God calls you to do and that is to serve and follow Him. It all starts with acceptance, love and a commitment that you can obey and witness the fulfillment of God's promises and miracles.

The harvest is near but the laborers are few. God calls us to serve Him and evangelize the world and making everyone know of His immense love for us and also Jesus' salvation for mankind. Not everyone is aware of it and God doesn't want you to sit down and wait because He wants you to move and do your part. God loves you but He also loves them that is why He wants us to go out and spread the word. We can do something with our efforts and it doesn't matter if it's big or small.

 We are all called for a purpose and it's never a coincidence nor an accident. God brought you in this world for a reason and in order to live your life meaningfully, you should discover the purpose why you're here. God never stops in calling. He doesn't call the qualified yet He qualifies the called. Don't worry and don't be afraid because God will show and reveal to you His wonders, mercy, power and majesty as long as you choose to serve and follow Him. Are you ready and brave enough to answer Him with your Yes? Say Yes because God didn't promise that it will be easy but He assures you that it is worth it.

SAY YES TO GOD! AMEN!

No gift higher than LOVE

Love.love.love. is just a word but everyone is crazy about it.. . It’s like an epidemic sickness that once you get caught, you can’t run away.. It’s contagious.. Or maybe yeah you can runaway but trust me.. It will haunt you for the rest of your life.. It’s like you can’t just go without it. It’s an interesting topic that you want to talk over and over again.. You can’t get enough.. No matter how it is, even if it gives you pain, hurt, sadness, but you can’t forget that it really felt good to love and be loved. That’s why no matter how bad what it brings into you and our life we continue living because we loved to love. And according to the bible no gift higher than love (read 1Corinthians 1-13).

And the reason “we love because He first loved us” 1 John 4:19.

We define love based on how we felt and experienced. I feel loved because of the love He manifested in every people I met, in every experience I’ve been through. I just felt loved!! And in return I love the people who loves me too.. romantic way or not. I’m in love with the feeling knowing that He loves me very much. It’s not that I have a perfect life..

Actually I have a broken family, I have this complicated job, and I’m away with the people I loved most. But still He gives me thousands of reason to smile and to be grateful about. It was like He promised me something that everything will be okay. He gives me hope everyday and something to look forward for. I don’t know what it is.. but I trust Him because I know He loves me and because of that I’m falling in love with Him every day.

10 things I will give to the Lord this 2013

This realization was during the First fruits activity we had last month. So here’s the continuation.. I already made a first post about it but it wasn’t detailed much..

Lord I know I have to give back what you gave to me. I feel so bad Lord that I couldn’t give you as much as you did. Lord I am not worthy and I am sinful. I am really sorry if I became so selfish and I only thought about myself, only myself alone. Lord I only have 10 dirhams with me along with some coins in my pocket and this 10 dirhams is not enough to give back to you for the many blessings and graces that I have received from you during the past years. I’m sorry Lord. I don’t have anything more to give to you but just this. I am really struggling with finances and it’s really hard to cope up. I know Lord that this struggle will soon become a blessing and I firmly believe that I will surpass this with your grace.

Lord You said it doesn’t matter how big or small the amount you give because what matters is you give something. My Lord You said, that what matters most is the character of your heart when you give. It’s easy to give when you have enough but it’s challenging when you give everything that’s left and nothing remains.

 “It’s not about what or how much you have when you give but it’s being delighted in expressing your Love and Honoring me as Your Father My Child. I don’t need those things that you have. I just want you to dedicate yourself to me through these first fruits.” said and affirmed the Lord.

So while I was praying and listening to the songs being played by the Music Min I was also reflecting on how good the Lord has been through the years. The songs that were played were: Give my all, This is my desire and Here I am to worship. He indeed is great and beyond compare. No words can express how awesome His grace and love is for all mankind. I felt so touched and moved by the Holy Spirit and inspired me to write as the Lord lead me.

I then realized that I should have 10 things in mind (desires and prayers) that I would give back and offer to the Lord.

1. Express and live my Faith

2. Prayer time & Bible reflection (consistent)

3. Devotion, commitment and service to the Lord

4. Go on a mission (higher calling, fulfill my dream to become a missionary)

5. Time, talent and treasure to proclaim God’s greatness

6. My Family, My God’s greatest and gorgeous gift.

7. Excel in my career, better finances and praying for better opportunities

8. Relationship with friends, community, etc

9.  Grow, change, mature, blessed and be transformed with God’s grace

10. My HEART. I surrender ALL TO YOU. I LOVE YOU LORD!!

1-5 is about my relationship to God. This year I want more of Him and less of me. I want to go deeper in knowing Him and being in His presence more. I want Him to be the first priority and the best choice that I ever made. I will give Him back what He deserves. I will praise and declare. I will go beyond borders to do your mission. I will make a difference for You. I will bless others as You have blessed me. I will be a living testimony of His greatness. I will OBEY without complain and I will WITNESS His miracles in the lives of His people. I will reach out and I will serve  You with all my heart, mind, soul, body and my everything . I will do it because I love You more and more each day.. For You Lord, I will. I say Yes.

6-10 is all about my family, my dreams, my relationship, my career, personal life, my heart and me, myself. As much as I want to serve and bring back to Him all the glory, I also desire for opportunities to provide for my 4G and also for my future. I also have to think and decide for myself because I have to be independent. I am discerning for a better job with a better pay for next year as my contract ends. I am praying for greater things ahead of me and I know God will really surprise me beyond expectation and I am excited for that. Also I am thinking about having a partner but it’s not really a priority but just an exception hahahah that’s why I made it last in the list. I know the Lord hears my desires and He will gladly give them to me when the right time comes. I don’t know yet but I have it in mind. For now, they are just my desires and I hope for more revelations, realizations and reflections on what I really desire the most. I know and trust that the Lord will truly lead me. Lord I am ready for whatever it is that you have prepared for me.

 I was waiting for my turn to offer my first fruit, my only money and my only heart. I really felt touched by the Lord as I offered it to Him together with the 10 things I have in mind. I kneeled in front of the altar and I really felt His presence. “Lord I am not worthy to give you only 10 dirhams but rest assured that I will give you all of me and especially my heart for you. Lord accept my simple offering, this is what I only have left and may you be delighted with what I gave even if it’s not much. I love you Lord.” After my prayer I felt peace and unexplained joy. God touched me and He blessed my heart. I felt so inspired and so motivated to do greater things for Him. He gave me strength and I know I will be victorious in proclaiming His greatness through the things I am doing and will be doing. Lord I offer this to You.
